Pula Film Festival

The Pula Film Festival, one of the oldest and most significant film festivals in the region, is being held for the 72nd time this year, from July 10th to 17th, 2025.

The festival’s slogan is “One light, thousands of memories,” and its visual identity is inspired by the farewell to the legendary projection booth in the Pula Arena, symbolizing togetherness and the special magic of watching films together under the same light.

The festival program includes competitive sections for Croatian films and Croatian minority co-productions, a student program, pitching sessions for projects in development, and numerous accompanying events. The latest achievements of domestic and European cinema will be screened, and the best films will compete for the prestigious Golden Arena awards.

The main part of the Pula Film Festival program, including the opening ceremony, screenings from the competition program (Croatian films, minority co-productions, and the international program), as well as the awarding of the festival’s most important prizes (Golden Arenas, the audience award Golden Gate of Pula), is traditionally held in the Pula Arena. The Arena, as the festival’s trademark, offers a unique experience of watching films under the stars and gathers the largest number of visitors during the festival.

This year as well, the festival brings together film professionals, students, audiences, and guests from Croatia and abroad, reaffirming Pula’s status as a center of film art and the summer cultural life of Istria.
