The amphitheater in Pula is also an archaeological monument, so there are many architectural barriers that cannot be removed due to respect for the monumental, cultural and historical values. With constant adjustments, the level of accessibility is slowly increasing.

There are no Braille signs inside the amphitheater.

There is no induction loop for the hearing impaired inside the amphitheater. There is an audio guide system accessed via QR codes, which offers text descriptions in addition to audio content.

The amphitheater space is partially accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties. The three levels of the amphitheater are connected by steep staircases.

The upper level is completely inaccessible, as it is accessed exclusively by ancient stone stairs.

The central level with the arena can be accessed through the entrance overlooking the southern park with the Serpentine (entrance C). There are several types of flooring on the central level. The western part of the space is paved with stone slabs suitable for movement, the access ramp to the fighting area is wooden and suitable for movement, the original part of the space is partly paved with uneven stone slabs and partly covered with gravel, therefore the possibility of movement depends on the person using the wheelchair as well as on the typology of the wheelchair itself.

The entrance to the underground part of the amphitheater, which was originally intended for gladiators, and today houses an exhibition on olive growing and winemaking in Istria, is located on the west side of the amphitheater (entrance B). Through the entrance, a long, narrow corridor leads to the central hall. The floor of the corridor is partly stone and partly wooden and is suitable for wheelchairs. The central hall is covered with gravel, so movement is difficult. Also, due to the architectural design of the space, the exhibition is partially not accessible, there are narrowings in the space where wheelchairs cannot pass, and stairs leading to a small plateau for viewing the display of a sunken ship with cargo.

It is important to emphasize that to visit the central level and the underground space, it is necessary to exit one unit, move outside the amphitheater, and access the other unit through an accessible entrance.

Inside the amphitheater, on the central level, there is a toilet for wheelchair users.
